Product Performance
PO-191 reverse osmosis membrane scale inhibitor is an alkaline-formulated agent, widely used in brackish water, high-salinity water, process water, drinking water and other fields. It delivers remarkable performance in membrane-based seawater desalination. It can control scale deposition in membrane separation systems and reduce the possibility of particulate re-fouling on the membrane surface. Meanwhile, it can effectively inhibit the scaling of carbonates, sulfates, calcium fluoride, metal oxides and other substances on the concentrate side.
Product Features
It is suitable for various types of water quality with high-efficiency scale inhibition capacity.
It can reduce scaling and decrease the frequency of membrane cleaning.
It can reduce or replace acid dosing treatment in membrane systems.
Its low dosing rate contributes to better economic benefits.
It is applicable to various types of membranes and also acts as a high-efficiency iron ion sequestrant.
It is compatible with various reverse osmosis CA membranes, TFC membranes, nanofiltration (NF) membranes and ultrafiltration (UF) membranes produced by major global manufacturers.
It allows membrane systems to operate at higher water recovery rates.
It exhibits excellent scale inhibition performance against different types and levels of scaling substances.

Application Method
Dosing Point
To achieve maximum efficiency, it is recommended to add PO-191 alkaline reverse osmosis membrane scale inhibitor before the mixer or cartridge filter. Stir thoroughly for 5–10 minutes when preparing the chemical solution, and clean the dosing tank regularly to prevent bacterial growth.
Dosing Amount
The required dosing amount is determined according to the operating conditions of individual units. A suitable dosing amount shall be calculated based on such conditions as feed water salinity, temperature, recovery rate and the type of RO membrane. The recommended dosing amount is 2–5 ppm.
Please consult Prio technical engineers to determine the dosing point and dosing amount for your specific system conditions. Specific dosing points and injection equipment are required in some systems.
Dilution
PO-191 alkaline reverse osmosis membrane scale inhibitor can be dosed directly or used after dilution. RO product water or demineralized water shall be used for dilution. The recommended dilution ratio is 10 times, and the dilution ratio shall not exceed 40 times.
Packaging, Storage, Transportation and Precautions
Packed in plastic drums, with specifications of 25kg/drum, 200kg/drum or customized as per customer requirements. Store in a cool and dry place with a shelf life of 12 months. Pay attention to labor protection during operation; avoid direct contact with skin, eyes and other mucous membranes. In case of contact, rinse the affected area thoroughly with plenty of clean water.
