PO-511 reverse osmosis cleaner is an alkaline composite liquid agent, suitable for the chemical cleaning of CA and TFC series reverse osmosis membrane elements. It causes no damage to reverse osmosis membranes, and has strong penetrating and dissolving capacity for sludge, organic matter, grease, microorganisms, viscous substances and non-acid-soluble substances. It will not cause secondary precipitation pollution during the cleaning process.

    Dosing Point

The cleaner shall be used in conjunction with the membrane cleaning equipment provided by the membrane system manufacturer. If such equipment is not available, please contact Prio technical engineers to manufacture or obtain the membrane cleaning equipment.

    Dosing Amount

Prio's technical engineers will determine the optimal dosage according to the actual conditions of your system. It is usually 2–5% of the liquid volume of the entire cleaning system, which includes the cleaning tank, connecting pipelines, filters, pressure vessels and membranes.

    Dilution

The cleaner must be diluted in the cleaning tank before entering the membrane system. The recommended mass concentration for dilution is 2%–5%. Adjust the pH of the acidic cleaner to 2–3, and adjust the pH of the alkaline cleaner to 10–11. Prepare the cleaning solution with RO product water.

    Cleaning Instructions

Check the connected cleaning circuit: Ensure the cleaning tank, pipelines and cartridge filter are properly connected and cleaned thoroughly with demineralized water for at least twice. Install a new filter element in the cartridge filter if necessary. During cleaning, circulate the prepared cleaning solution at low pressure and high flow rate on the concentrate side of the membrane, with the membrane elements still installed in the pressure vessels.

Fill half of the cleaning tank with reverse osmosis effluent or demineralized water. Slowly add the pre-calculated amount of cleaner into the tank and mix evenly. It is recommended to control the temperature of the cleaning solution at around 30℃.

Start the cleaning pump according to the cleaning circuit to begin cleaning. Drain the initial cleaning solution flowing out of the RO membrane, which accounts for about 10%–20% of the cleaning tank volume. Follow the cleaning flow rate and velocity recommended by the membrane manufacturer or system supplier. The cleaning duration depends on the pollution level, generally ranging from 8 to 12 hours.
